Guwahati, Jan 2 : Assam Agriculture Minister Atul Bora held a crucial review meeting with senior officials from the Agriculture Department at Janata Bhawan in Guwahati to evaluate the progress of ongoing agricultural and horticultural initiatives across the state.

The discussions focused on improving farmers’ welfare and ensuring the effective implementation of government schemes and policies. Minister Bora highlighted that agriculture continues to be the backbone of Assam’s economy and reiterated the government’s commitment to sustainable growth in the sector.

A major focus of the meeting was the upcoming public event in Guwahati on January 9, which will be attended by Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The event will celebrate the achievements of the Agriculture Department and lay the groundwork for future initiatives. Minister Bora instructed officials to ensure seamless coordination and thorough preparations for the event.

Additionally, Bora extended his New Year 2025 greetings to the Agriculture and Horticulture Department officials, commending their hard work and dedication to supporting farmers. He urged them to continue their focused efforts in the coming year to further strengthen the agriculture sector.

The meeting was attended by Agriculture Department Commissioner & Secretary Aruna Rajoria, Agriculture Production Commissioner Gunajit Kashyap, Horticulture Director Nripen Chandra Das, and other senior department officials.
