Guwahati, Sept 5: The director and two employees of Bhartia Infra Projects Ltd (BIPL) were arrested on Friday following the death of a three-year-old boy at an under-construction flyover in Arya Nagar, Guwahati.

The child, identified as Sunit Kumar, fell into an uncovered drain at the site on Wednesday and later died, police said.

After a complaint was filed by the boy’s father, authorities registered a case of negligence against BIPL. Police consulted with the Public Works Department (PWD), which is overseeing the flyover project, before arresting the three company officials.
