Guwahati, Dec 23: The Biswanath district administration in Assam has issued expulsion orders to two women, Asmull Khatun of Missamari village and Afuja Begum of Bakrapatta village, who were declared Bangladeshi foreigners by a Foreigners’ Tribunal.

Biswanath District Commissioner Lakhinandan Saharia, citing Section 2 of the Immigrants (Expulsion from Assam) Act, 1950, directed the women to leave Assam within 24 hours through the Dhubri, Sribhumi, or South Salmara-Mankachar route. Authorities stated that failure to comply would result in enforced removal.

Earlier, the Nagaon district administration issued similar orders on December 18 to 15 individuals declared as foreigners, instructing them to leave the country.
