Assam’s Olympic bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain led India’s impressive performance at the Boxam Elite International 2026 boxing tournament, securing gold in the 75kg category on Sunday.

India concluded the tournament with a total of 19 medals, including nine golds and three silvers on the final day, after previously winning seven bronze medals. The haul made India the most successful nation at the meet, which featured over 200 boxers from 20 countries.

Lovlina displayed her trademark control and composure to defeat England’s Mary-Kate Smith 4-1 in the women’s 75kg final. Indian women reached seven finals in total, including an all-Indian clash in the 54kg division, and claimed gold in every final.

Other notable victories in the women’s category included Manju Rani (48kg) and Nitu Ghanghas (51kg), who secured unanimous decision wins over Spain’s Marta Lopez and Noelia Gutierrez, respectively. Poonam (54kg) narrowly defeated compatriot Preeti Pawar, while Priya (60kg), Arundhati Choudhary (70kg), and Naina (80kg) recorded commanding wins over opponents from Ukraine.
In the men’s finals, Sachin Siwach (60kg) edged Canada’s Keoma-Ali Al Ahmadieh 3-2, and Akash (75kg) overcame Kazakhstan’s Aman Konsbekov with the same scoreline to claim gold. Deepak (70kg) and Ankush (80kg) settled for silver medals after losing to opponents from Kazakhstan and Ukraine.

The tournament highlighted India’s growing dominance in international boxing, particularly in the women’s category.
