The Assam Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, on Thursday approved a ₹178 crore proposal for the construction of six District Science Centres cum Planetariums.

The centres will be established in Majuli, Diphu, Kaliabor, Silchar, Amingaon, and Bongaigaon. The initiative is aimed at fostering scientific temperament and enhancing science education infrastructure across the state.
