Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched the 12 Days of Development program in Jorhat on Friday, aiming to accelerate development and welfare across the state.
The program features the launch of Phase II (Category 3) of the Assam Microfinance Incentive and Relief Scheme, which has already disbursed ₹2,304.30 crore in financial aid to 12,647 women in Jorhat and 12.71 lakh beneficiaries statewide.
Additionally, CM Sarma announced a Disaster Relief Assistance initiative, allocating ₹353.37 crore to assist 6,86,487 families affected by disasters in 2024, including direct relief to several families in Jorhat.
The PMFME Scheme also saw ₹21.90 crore distributed to 6,490 Self-Help Group (SHG) members across Assam, with 366 SHG members in Jorhat benefiting from the financial support.
