Guwahati, Dec 26: On the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma unveiled a statue of the former Prime Minister in Guwahati. The statue was unveiled at the Atal Udyan complex in Adabari, along with the inauguration of an exhibition celebrating Vajpayee’s life and contributions.
In his address, Sarma lauded Vajpayee’s leadership, highlighting his tenure as a three-time Prime Minister and his dedication to India’s unity and peace. “Atal ji was not only a poet and an eloquent orator but also a guiding figure for the nation. His deep affection for Assam and its people will always be remembered,” Sarma said.
The Chief Minister stressed that Vajpayee’s legacy would continue to inspire Assam’s growth and development. Earlier in the day, Sarma participated in the ‘Good Governance Day’ event at the BJP headquarters in Guwahati.
