Assam CM Joins Arunachal BJP Legislators’ Training Program Held In Guwahati

Guwahati, May 19: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday participated in the Arunachal Pradesh BJP Legislators’ Orientation-cum-Training Programme held in Guwahati. The event was also attended by Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Assam Minister Ashok Singhal, and BJP National General Secretary BL Santhosh.

During his address, Sarma highlighted the cultural and historical ties between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, stating that both states are working closely for the development and welfare of the Northeast. “Assam and Arunachal Pradesh are sister states with deep-rooted cultural and historical connections. Both governments are united in their efforts to build a stronger Northeast,” he said.

The training programme was organised to equip newly elected legislators of Arunachal Pradesh with knowledge on governance, party ideology, and development strategies, aiming to foster coordination among BJP-ruled northeastern states.

In a separate development, the Assam Pradesh BJP has scheduled an extended executive meeting on May 21 in Jorhat. The meeting will be chaired by State BJP President Dilip Saikia and attended by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Key party leaders including BJP National Spokesperson and North East Coordinator Sambit Patra, State In-Charge Harish Dwivedi, Union Minister Pabitra Margherita, National Secretary and MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, along with ministers, MPs, MLAs, and party officials will take part in the session.

The meeting will be conducted in two parts, with the first session involving district-level leaders and the second session including ministers and elected representatives.
