Guwahati, Jun 7: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday laid the foundation stone for a ₹25.33 crore centralised kitchen of the Akshaya Patra Foundation in Nalbari district.
The facility is aimed at providing nutritious mid-day meals to school children and food support to disaster-affected people in the region.
Addressing the media after the event, the Chief Minister said the initiative will help improve students’ health and allow teachers to concentrate more on teaching, contributing to a better learning environment in government schools.
