Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday laid the foundation stone and performed the Bhoomipujan ceremony for the Akshaya Patra Foundation’s centralised community kitchen at Bebejia, Kamartup in Lakhimpur district.
The facility, to be built on a 16 bigha plot of land, will be constructed at a cost of ₹25.50 crore. It aims to provide midday meals to school students under the PM Poshan scheme.
The proposed G+1 structure will house a staff training centre, a multipurpose hall, administrative offices, and residential quarters for senior management and staff.
