Assam Congress President Gaurav Gogoi announced that the party will reclaim land allegedly “illegally” occupied by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his ministers if it is voted to power in the state. He said the reclaimed land would be redistributed among the poor.
Gogoi made the statement while addressing the media after the Extended Executive Meeting of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee in Guwahati.
He also said that public dissatisfaction with the BJP-led government is increasing and added that the Congress would introduce land and economic reforms to support economically weaker sections if elected.
