Guwahati, Jun 10: The flood situation in Assam improved on Tuesday, with all major rivers, including the Brahmaputra and its tributaries, flowing below the danger mark. According to official sources, no rainfall was recorded anywhere in the state in the last 24 hours.
Despite the improvement, around 1.6 lakh people remain affected across nine districts.
The death toll from the first wave of floods and landslides has risen to 27, following the report of one more death on Monday due to drowning in Sribhumi district.
