In a major step towards strengthening Assam’s industrial sector, the state government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ambuja Cements Ltd for an investment of ₹10,000 crore. The agreement includes the establishment of three cement manufacturing units in Umrangso, Hojai, and Rangia.

The initiative falls under the “Advantage Assam 2.0” programme and aims to enhance the state’s industrial infrastructure while creating over 7,000 job opportunities for local youth.

The state government has urged more companies to invest in Assam and contribute to its growing industrial landscape.
