Assam Govt Approves New Nursing College And PET-CT Facility To Boost Cancer Care Services

The 23rd meeting of the Board of Directors of the Assam Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF) was held at Lok Sewa Bhawan, Dispur, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

 

 

The Board approved the establishment of a B.Sc. Nursing College at Lakhimpur Cancer Centre to enhance medical education and support cancer care services in the region. Additionally, a new PET-CT machine was sanctioned for installation at the State Cancer Institute in Guwahati to strengthen diagnostic capabilities.

The meeting also set a target for the completion of four more cancer hospitals under ACCF by December 2025, reinforcing Assam’s commitment to expanding cancer treatment infrastructure across the state.
