Assam: Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Presents ₹204.05 Crore Supplementary Budget For FY 2025–26

The 251st Session of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) was held on 26 June 2025, during which Chief Executive Member Tuliram Ronghang presented the Supplementary Demands for Voted Expenditure under the Council Budget for the financial year 2025–26.

The supplementary demands, amounting to ₹204.05 crore, are aimed at addressing urgent financial requirements across key departments to ensure effective governance and service delivery in the Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong districts.

The department-wise allocation of the supplementary demands is as follows: Land Revenue (Grant No. 4): ₹5.04 crore, Secretariat Central Service (Grant No. 7): ₹2.53 crore, Printing & Stationery (Grant No. 8): ₹40 crore, Public Works – Diphu Division (Grant No. 9): ₹56 crore, Public Works – Hamren Division (Grant No. 9B): ₹90 crore, Education (Grant No. 11): ₹0.30 crore, Art & Culture (Grant No. 12): ₹9.18 crore and Loans & Advances to KAAC Employees (Grant No. 61): ₹1 crore

The proposed funds will support projects such as land record digitization, infrastructure development, skill training, preservation of cultural heritage sites, and housing advances for employees.

Officials stated that the allocations underscore the Council’s focus on transparency, continuity, and efficient public service delivery to enhance the welfare of the region.
