Guwahati, Jun 10: Rosmita Hojai, a resident of Sontilla Hojai in Assam’s Dima Hasao district who had been missing since June 5 in Delhi, was found dead in Uttarakhand’s Pauri Garhwal district, according to an official statement issued by Dima Hasao Chief Executive Member (CEM) Debolal Gorlosa on Tuesday.
Gorlosa, in a message shared on his official Facebook handle, expressed deep sorrow over the incident, calling it an “unthinkable loss.” He extended condolences to the bereaved family and said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with her grieving family during this painful time.”
The CEM thanked Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for his support during the search operation and acknowledged the efforts of Uttarakhand Police in tracing the case. “Without their support, this would not have been possible,” he said.
Gorlosa also urged authorities to take immediate and strict legal action against the two individuals reportedly involved in the case. He emphasized the need for justice and called for collective efforts to ensure the safety of women in society.
