The North Eastern Handicrafts and Handloom Development Corporation Ltd, a Government of India enterprise, organised a special event on Thursday at the Craft Promotion & Experience Center in Guwahati to celebrate National Handloom Day.

Minister of Industries and Commerce, Government of Assam, Bimal Borah, attended the event and highlighted the significance of handloom products as symbols of identity, self-reliance, and national pride. He stated that National Handloom Day is observed to honour the region’s rich handloom heritage and to promote the welfare of artisans by ensuring them a dignified livelihood.
