In a continued crackdown on anti-national activities, Kamrup Police have arrested a man identified as Safiqul Haque for allegedly using multiple SIM cards to post pro-Pakistan and communal content on Facebook.

According to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s post on his official X handle on 18 June, the arrest was made following sustained surveillance. Police apprehended Haque from Nalbari district.

With this, the total number of arrests in connection with such activities has reached 94.
