Guwahati, May 22: Assam Police carried out two major anti-narcotics operations leading to the seizure of drugs valued at over ₹7.5 crore and the arrest of four suspected drug peddlers.
In Karbi Anglong, police intercepted a vehicle and recovered 2.977 kg of morphine, estimated to be worth ₹1.5 crore. Two individuals were arrested in connection with the case.
In another operation, Sribhumi Police intercepted a separate vehicle and seized 1.23 kg of heroin valued at ₹6 crore. Two more accused were taken into custody.
Officials confirmed that further investigations are underway, and the operations reflect the police’s continued efforts to combat drug trafficking in the state.
