In a separate operation on Friday, Karbi Anglong district police intercepted a vehicle at a naka checkpoint on Langvoku Road near Men Rongphar village, recovering 489 grams of heroin. The driver was apprehended, and further legal proceedings have been initiated.
Earlier, on December 3, the Guwahati unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) dismantled an international drug trafficking network operating along the Myanmar-Manipur-Assam corridor. Officials seized 6.149 kg of heroin during a riverine operation targeting consignments transported via forest routes and the Barak River to evade security.
