Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has called for a transparent and swift investigation into the death of Assamese music icon Zubeen Garg in Singapore, assuring the family and fans of justice.
Gandhi met with Garg’s wife, Garima Saikia Garg, and family members, emphasizing the need for truth and closure. “People who heard him and loved him want to know what happened. It’s the duty of the government to transparently investigate and tell the family exactly what happened. The sooner the truth comes out, the better,” he said.
The Congress party stands in solidarity with the Garg family and the people of Assam. Gandhi also planted a ‘Nahor’ sapling, Zubeen’s favorite tree, at the cremation ground as a tribute.
