A rare leopard cat was rescued from the Borkhola-Bijoypur tea gardens in Cachar district after being spotted near a temple by local residents. Acting on a tip-off, the forest department reached the Chota Rampur Tea Garden area and safely rescued the animal. The leopard cat, classified as a protected species under Indian wildlife laws, was later taken under the care of forest officials.
