Assam’s leading sprinter Amlan Borgohain, a national record holder in the 100m and 200m events, is preparing to represent India at the upcoming Commonwealth Games and Asian Championships, with full backing from the state government.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, in a post on his official X handle on Monday, extended his support to the athlete, stating, “With India’s pride and Assam’s very own Amlan Borgohain. India’s finest sprinter and national record holder, he is preparing for the upcoming CWG and Asian Championships. Govt of Assam will fully support him in his endeavours to bring laurels to the nation on a global stage.”
Borgohain, who has consistently made headlines for his sprinting achievements, is seen as a key medal contender for India in international competitions.
