Betkuchi High School from Assam achieved a historic victory in the 64th Subroto Cup junior girls’ football tournament, defeating Nandajhar Adibashi Pashili High School of West Bengal 3–1 in the final on Thursday.

Sayasree Sangma opened the scoring for Assam in the 12th minute, before West Bengal’s Neha Baroi equalized in the 21st minute. Assam quickly regained the lead with goals from Milina Brahma in the 24th minute and Mari Mech in the 29th minute, securing a decisive 3–1 win.

The winning Assam team received a prize of ₹5 lakh, while the runners-up from West Bengal were awarded ₹3 lakh
