Binita Chetry, a 9-year-old girl from Assam, has made history by becoming the first contestant from Northeast India to reach the finals of Britain’s Got Talent (BGT) 2025. Her energetic and heartfelt dance performance in the semi-final earned her the highest public vote, securing her spot in the upcoming grand finale on May 31.
Expressing her gratitude after the performance, Binita said, “I’m feeling very thankful. I’ve worked very hard for the semi-final, and I’m going to do my best for the finals.”
Binita, who travelled to the UK with her father, shared in a viral video that performing on BGT had always been her dream. Her innocent wish to “win and buy a pink princess house” touched audiences around the world.
The judging panel—Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli—praised her talent, confidence, and stage presence, calling her performance “truly magical.”
She will now compete in the grand finale alongside nine other finalists, including magician Harry Moulding, Joseph Charm, Hear Our Voice, Jasmine Rice, Ping Pong Pang, Ollie Pearson, Stacey Leadbeatter, Blackouts, and Vinny McKee.
With growing support from Assam, the Northeast, and across the globe, Binita Chetry stands as a symbol of young talent and inspiration from the region.
