Guwahati, July 21: In a landmark achievement for Assam, Krispita Pradhan, a Class 8 student from Udalguri district, has secured admission into the prestigious Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) in Dehradun, becoming the first female cadet from the state to do so.
The Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu congratulated her through his official X handle, extending “heartiest congratulations” to Krispita and calling it “a proud moment for all of us.”
The Chief Executive Member of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), Pramod Boro, also extended his greetings, noting that Krispita is the first student from both the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) and Assam to be admitted to the RIMC. He praised her dedication and described her as a trailblazer for the youth of the region.
Krispita’s achievement has been widely appreciated across the state and is seen as an inspiration for students, especially girls, to pursue excellence in military education.
RIMC is one of India’s most prestigious military educational institutions, located in the scenic Doon Valley of Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Originally founded as the Prince of Wales Royal Indian Military College, it was renamed after independence to reflect its national character.
