Kamalpur, April 3: BJP National President Nitin Nabin accused the Congress of favoring infiltrators for vote-bank politics and urged Assam voters to recall the opposition’s tenure while casting ballots in the upcoming assembly elections.
Speaking at a campaign rally in support of BJP candidate Diganta Kalita for the Kamalpur constituency, Nabin expressed confidence that the BJP-led NDA would secure a third consecutive term under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s leadership.
“The Congress government flung open the gates to infiltrators. During their rule, neither women nor land were safe,” Nabin asserted.
He contrasted this with the BJP’s achievements, claiming the party had shown infiltrators the exit door and launched widespread development initiatives. “The last 10 years marked real progress in Assam. When you vote, remember what came before,” he added.
Nabin, who has visited Assam extensively since 2009-10 for party work, recalled a grim past: “Back then, development was absent. Travel was tense amid violence and agitations people discussed little else.”
The BJP leader remains optimistic about the incumbent government’s return to power.
