Guwahati, March 31: Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal stated on Tuesday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) conducted door-to-door campaigns across Assam to collect public inputs for its ‘Sankalp Patra’ manifesto.

Sonowal said the party visited homes across the state to gather ideas on priorities for the next term. “This document reflects the people’s voice, with over 3 lakh suggestions shaping it. In our third term, we aim to deliver on these based on Assam’s aspirations,” he added.

He also expressed confidence in the party’s electoral prospects, saying, “With our allies, we’re close to a century of seats.”

The remarks come during campaigning for the Assam Assembly elections, where the BJP-led NDA is seeking a third consecutive term against the Congress.

Earlier, on March 28, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma noted increased participation from women and younger voters at party rallies in Dhakuakhana and Lakhimpur.

Polling for all 126 assembly constituencies is scheduled for April 9, with results expected on May 4.
