Guwahati, April 1: Aminul Islam, the AIUDF candidate from Rupahihat, expressed strong confidence in his party’s prospects on Wednesday, asserting that the political atmosphere in Assam is shifting decisively in favor of the All India United Democratic Front. Speaking ahead of a high-profile campaign visit by AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, Islam claimed that the AIUDF is poised to sweep key seats across Middle Assam, effectively sidelining both the BJP and the Congress.

Islam launched a sharp dual attack on the state’s major players, arguing that there is no functional difference between the Congress and the BJP in the current political landscape. He specifically targeted Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi, alleging that the Congress party has become a “supplier” of leaders to the BJP. “BJP’s influence is ingrained within the Congress, and the people of Assam have realized this,” Islam stated, attributing the Congress’s struggling campaign to this perceived lack of distinct identity.

The AIUDF leader emphasized that the arrival of Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday to campaign in support of the party would further solidify their momentum. By framing the contest as a battle against a “hidden alliance” between the two national parties, Islam maintained that voters in Middle Assam are ready to back the AIUDF as the only authentic alternative for the region’s representation.
