Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Thursday inducted Daniel Langthasa into the National People’s Party (NPP) during a large public convention in Dima Hasao.

Sangma welcomed Langthasa and his supporters to the NPP, saying the move reflects growing confidence in the party’s vision of development that respects tribal identity, indigenous rights, and local aspirations.

He added that the strong support from the people of Dima Hasao reinforces NPP’s presence in the region and highlights the party’s commitment to identity, dignity, unity, and development. Sangma also emphasized the party’s focus on empowering indigenous communities, creating opportunities for youth, and fostering a more connected “One North East.”

The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the people of Dima Hasao for their continued support.
