Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will visit Assam next week for major events, including the inauguration of key projects and a grand Indian Air Force (IAF) Air Show in Guwahati.
Sitharaman will be on a two-day visit to the state on November 7 and 8. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the Finance Minister will visit the Jagiroad Semiconductor plant site and inaugurate the Guwahati Gateway Terminal and Riverfront Project on November 7. The next day, she will lay the foundation stone of the Swahid Kanaklata Barua State University at Bholaguri Tea Estate in Gohpur.
Following her visit, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will arrive in Assam on November 9 to attend the IAF’s mega Air Show at Lachit Ghat along the Brahmaputra River.
The Air Show, part of this year’s Air Force Day celebrations, will feature aerial demonstrations by fighter jets, transport aircraft, and helicopters.
