The President of India has nominated veteran social worker and educationist C. Sadanandan Master to the Rajya Sabha in recognition of his contributions to public life. Following the announcement, Master pledged to dedicate himself to the Union government’s vision of a “Viksit Kerala” and “Viksit Bharat.”

Sadanandan Master, a B.Com graduate from Gauhati University and Kerala resident, lost both legs in a political attack but continued his grassroots work across the state. “This is a proud moment because the party has shown its confidence and trust in me. To help realise the vision of Viksit Kerala and Viksit Bharat, I must work even harder,” he said.

A native of Kannur, Master also highlighted the hardships faced by party workers in Kerala, especially in Kannur, and assured support to their families.

He is among four individuals nominated to the Rajya Sabha under Article 80(1)(a) of the Constitution. The nominations were announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Master, calling his life “the epitome of courage and refusal to bow to injustice,” and praised his contributions to education and youth empowerment.
