Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president and Deputy Leader of the Lok Sabha, Gaurav Gogoi, has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking an independent investigation into alleged illegal quarrying in the Panimura Range of Karbi Anglong district.

In his letter, Gogoi stated that large-scale quarrying is reportedly being carried out without valid environmental clearances. He highlighted that such unauthorized activities could threaten ecological stability, affect local communities, and undermine the credibility of regulatory authorities.

Gogoi urged the central government to take immediate action to stop these alleged violations and ensure accountability through a fair and independent probe.
