Guwahati, Aug 7: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will construct five foot overbridges along the 18-kilometre Guwahati Bypass of National Highway 27 to improve pedestrian safety and convenience.

The foot overbridges will be located at Jalukbari (near Assam Engineering College), Tetelia, Gorchuk (near CPWD Office), Royal Global University Point, and Lalmati (near Games Village).

According to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, each overbridge will be equipped with escalators to ensure ease of access. The entire bypass will also be fitted with streetlights to enhance visibility during night hours.
