Kaziranga National Park has secured the third position globally in terms of tiger population density, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Tuesday while marking International Tiger Day.
The Chief Minister said the state is expanding wildlife reserves and taking strong action against encroachment to strengthen conservation efforts and protect tiger habitats.
“Assam is not just protecting tigers, it is reclaiming their kingdom. With expanded reserves and bold action against encroachment, the striped beasts of Assam continue to roam with power and pride,” Sarma wrote on X.
