The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Assam has set a target of winning 100 out of 126 seats in the state assembly elections scheduled for next year. The announcement was made on Friday during a rally of panchayat representatives in Guwahati, attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, and Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) president Atul Bora.
Chief Minister Sarma, addressing the gathering, accused the Congress of corruption during its tenure and urged workers to pledge their commitment to safeguard Assam’s “jati, mati, bheti” (community, land, and foundation). He said the government would provide land rights to the people and reclaim land from outsiders.
The NDA leaders called on grassroots representatives to strengthen the alliance and work collectively to secure a decisive mandate in the upcoming polls.
