Two individuals were arrested on Friday after authorities seized opium valued at Rs 4 crore from their vehicle in Karbi Anglong district.

The opium was found hidden in 16 packets inside a secret compartment behind the driver’s seat of a truck traveling from Dimapur, Nagaland. The seizure took place during a routine vehicle check at Old Lahorijan, under the Dillai police station, on National Highway 29.

The arrested individuals are currently under investigation.
