Assam’s anti-poaching initiative, Operation Falcon, has led to the arrest of over 40 individuals involved in rhino poaching since last year, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Monday. The operation also uncovered multiple gangs with connections to international criminal networks and successfully thwarted several poaching attempts.
The campaign employs a mix of ground operations and digital intelligence to combat illegal wildlife trade across the state.
Sharing a video update on social media, the Chief Minister described Operation Falcon as “breaking the back of poaching and illegal animal trade.”
