Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that over 9 lakh residents of the state had their Aadhaar biometrics unlocked in 2024. These individuals had faced issues with locked biometrics during the National Register of Citizens (NRC) update.
The CM highlighted that this initiative would enable these 9 lakh people to access government services without any barriers. He credited the BJP’s double-engine government at both the Centre and state for facilitating this significant development in Assam.
