Guwahati, Aug 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Assam on September 8 to attend the birth centenary celebrations of renowned cultural icon Bhupen Hazarika, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Friday.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will arrive at Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) in Golaghat district, where he will dedicate a ₹4,200 crore bio-ethanol plant to the nation.
He will then proceed to Mangaldoi in Darrang district to inaugurate the Guwahati Ring Road and a bridge over the Brahmaputra River connecting Kuruwa and Narengi in Guwahati. Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the Mangaldoi Medical College Hospital.
