Guwahati, Dec 3: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH) has decided to appoint a new contractor for the construction of the Jorhat-Majuli bridge in Assam, following a halt in work since September. An official from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) confirmed that the process of selecting a new contractor will begin promptly.

The decision was made after a meeting in the national capital with key stakeholders, where it was decided that a fresh contractor would be engaged to ensure the timely completion of the project.
