Singapore To host North East India Festival From September 19-21; To Strengthen Economic And Cultural Ties

Guwahati, August 15: The 4th edition of the North East India Festival is scheduled to take place at the Suntec Singapore Convention Center from September 19th to 21st, 2025. The festival besides displaying the rich cultural heritage, trade, and tourism potential of North East India will act as a bridge strengthening connections between Singapore and the region.

The inaugural session scheduled to be on September 19th evening will be attended by prominent dignitaries, including Union DoNER Minister Mr. Jyotiraditya Scindia, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Pema Khandu, and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, along with state ministers from Assam, Tripura, Mizoram, and others.

During the two-day exhibition on September 20th and 21st, over 50 stalls will display the best of product from the North East Region, including agri-horticulture, food processing, curated handicraft exhibition, Assam tea varieties, and traditional cuisines. Around 150 folk dancers will be performing traditional dances like the Lion dance from Arunachal Pradesh, Sattriya, Tiwa, Karbi dance from Assam, Manipuri dance, Hojagiri dance from Tripura, and Warrior dance from Nagaland.

The festival will also feature fashion shows with Northeast India’s finest designers showcasing textile designs and products, popular tourism destinations, and festivals from the region. Along with popular music bands from Nagaland, Manipur besides Bollywood singer Zubeen Garg from Assam and rapper Borkung Hrangkhal from Tripura, popular rapper Younng Raja from Singapore will also perform on the Northeast India Festival stage.

“A series of B2B meets will be organized to promote bilateral trade and tourism between India and Singapore. Entry to the festival is free, making it accessible to everyone. Over 400 people from India will participate in this massive program, presented by the Indian High Commission, MEA, Govt of India, and Trend MMS,” says Chief organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta.
