Guwahati, Dec 23: Six Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended by Assam Police for illegally entering Indian territory and were subsequently pushed back to Bangladesh, as confirmed by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday.
Sarma, in a post on social media, emphasized the state’s strict stance against illegal infiltration, stating, “No place for illegal infiltration in Assam.” While he did not disclose the specific location along the India-Bangladesh border, he assured that Assam Police is closely monitoring and taking strict action to prevent such incidents.
