The Rajasthan Foundation (Assam & Northeast Chapter) has proposed the installation of statues of 17th-century Ahom general Lachit Borphukan in Jaipur and Kota. The initiative, led by the Assamese community living in Rajasthan, aims to honour Borphukan’s legacy and promote national unity.

Support from the Assam Government is expected for the project. Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar has backed the initiative and stated that the state will soon recommend to the Centre the inclusion of Lachit Borphukan’s story in school textbooks.
