Guwahati, May 21: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday said the tea tribes are an integral part of the state’s society and have played a vital role in enriching its culture over the past two centuries.
Extending greetings to the tea garden community on the occasion of International Tea Day, Sarma posted on X, “On #International Tea Day, I extend my best wishes to our tea garden community.”
He added, “The tea tribes are an intrinsic part of Assam’s society and have enriched our culture over the last 200 years. Our government has taken a host of steps to empower and uplift them in the last four years.”
