The Prohibition Enforcement Wing (PEW) police in Erode arrested two men from Assam on Wednesday after seizing 50 grams of heroin, valued at Rs 35 lakh.

Acting on a tip-off, the police raided the two-wheeler parking lot at Erode Railway Junction and detained the suspects, aged 29 and 30, who were carrying a suspicious bag. Upon inspection, the heroin was found hidden inside.

During interrogation, the men admitted to smuggling the drugs from Assam with the intention of selling them in Erode for a higher profit.
