Agartala, February 14, 2026: Under the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), around 35.69 crore Ayushman cards were created across the country during the last five years, from April 2020 to January 2026. As on January 31, 2026, the scheme has authorized 5.77 crore hospital admissions in private hospitals, involving an expenditure of Rs 1.15 lakh crore.

The information was shared by Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha on Thursday.

Focusing on Tripura, official data as of 3:45 PM on February 13, 2026, shows that 22,24,995 people applied for eKYC under AB-PMJAY. Of these, 22,24,878 applications were approved, 36 rejected, 81 are pending, and 572 marked as delivered. However, a Health Department official clarified that PVC card delivery is not applicable in Tripura, as no delivery agency has been empanelled in the state, unlike in some other parts of the country.

In the PVTG (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups) category, Tripura has 37,950 individuals from 12,444 families. Among them, 13,958 individuals applied, 13,882 were approved, while 76 remain pending.

For ASHA, AWW and AWH workers, the coverage includes 16,656 families targeting 63,963 individuals. Out of these, 32,897 requests were submitted, 32,889 approved, one rejected, and seven are pending.

Under the BOCW (Building and Other Construction Workers) category, 35,048 families covering 1,41,148 individuals are eligible. Data shows 85,978 applications, with 85,952 approvals and 26 pending.

In the senior citizens (70+) category, 50,773 applications were received in Tripura, of which 50,770 were approved, while three remain pending, reflecting near-universal coverage for the elderly under the scheme.
