Bangladeshi Man Dies After Assault By Villagers In Meghalaya’s South West Khasi Hills

A Bangladeshi man, suspected of cross-border intrusion and attempted abduction, died after being assaulted by villagers in Meghalaya’s South West Khasi Hills district.

The man, identified as Akram from Sherpur district, was caught by residents of Kaitha Kona village on Monday afternoon.

He was handed over to the police and taken to Maheshkhola Primary Health Centre, where he later succumbed to his injuries, police said.
