Agartala, May 28, 2026: In a significant organisational reshuffle within the Bharatiya Janata Party, the party’s national leadership on Friday announced the appointment of Abhishek Debroy as the new President of the party’s Tripura Pradesh unit.

The appointment was made by the party’s national president Nitin Nabin, according to an official notification issued by Arun Singh, National General Secretary and Headquarters In-Charge of the BJP.

As per the letter dated May 28, 2026, Abhishek Debroy, who is currently serving as an MLA, has been entrusted with the responsibility of leading the party organisation in Tripura with immediate effect.

The development is being viewed as an important political decision ahead of the party’s future organisational and electoral strategies in the northeastern state. Party workers and leaders across Tripura have welcomed the announcement, expressing hope that the new leadership will further strengthen the BJP’s grassroots network and organisational activities in the state.

The official communication has also been forwarded to senior party office-bearers, including state in-charges, state presidents, organisational secretaries, and the Chief Minister of Tripura for information and necessary coordination.

Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, Ministers Sudhangshu Das, Tinku Roy, Sushanta Chowdhury, Ratan Lal Nath, Pranajit Singha Roy etc. have extended his heartfelt congratulations to MLA Abhishek Debroy on being appointed as the President of the Tripura State Unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

In his message, they expressed confidence that under Debroy’s able leadership, the BJP in Tripura will grow stronger and more prosperous. He also offered prayers to Mother Tripureshwari for Debroy’s good health and a successful political career.
