Agartala, April 02, 2026: Tripura’s SC Welfare Minister & 56-Dharmanagar by-election in-charge Sudhangshu Das on Thursday expressed strong confidence over the Bharatiya Janata Party’s prospects in the ongoing election campaign, asserting that BJP candidate Jahar Chakraborty is heading towards a decisive victory.
Addressing party workers and supporters during an election campaign, Das described Jahar Chakraborty as a dedicated, honest and experienced BJP worker who has been associated with the party for a long time and has consistently worked for the people.
He said that after polling on April 04, the BJP candidate is expected to secure victory by a huge margin in the assembly constituency. The minister further claimed that opposition parties would face a crushing defeat and even deposits are to be forfeited.
Das also said that public support in favour of the BJP is clearly visible across the district as well as in all areas where elections are being held. According to him, an atmosphere of enthusiasm has been created in favour of the party, with slogans supporting BJP echoing across different parts of the region.
He maintained that the people would give a fitting reply through the ballot and added that on May 04, the outcome would reflect overwhelming public backing for the BJP.
The minister further asserted that a strong wave in favour of the BJP is visible not only in the state but across the country wherever elections are taking place, expressing confidence that the party will register convincing victories everywhere.
His speech carried a highly confident tone, with repeated assertions of BJP’s certain victory while sharply criticising opposition parties.
